[LISTEN] SANTIGOLD: ‘Master Of My Make-Believe’

Santi White, better known by her stage name Santigold, took the world by storm back in 2008 with her incredible début LP Santogold, which earned her critical acclaim as well as collaborations and tours with the likes of Spank Rock, Kanye West and the Beastie Boys. Over four years later, she is finally following that album up with Master of My Make-Believe, which is released on May 1. We’ve already heard the pretty great singles ‘Big Mouth’ and ‘Disparate Youth’, and seen the amazing album cover photographed by Jason Schmidt (which you watch a making-of video on below) – as well as her recent performance at Coachella – and now you can stream the entire album online. Master of My Make-Believe features production from longtime friends Diplo and Switch (Major Lazer), as well as Q-Tip, Dave Sitek (TV on the Radio), and Nick Zinner (Yeah Yeah Yeahs), and on first listen it’s a worthy – if a little inconsistent – and more sonically diverse follow-up to Santogold which I’m looking forward to giving plenty more spins.
