[Watch] BON IVER’s Justin Vernon joins THE NATIONAL on stage; Discusses Grammys, Whiskey & Kanye

Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon and the National were guests on CBC Radio’s ‘Q’ show in Toronto this week. In addition to performing two new songs, the National were also joined by Vernon on ‘Vanderlyle Crybaby Geeks’ off their excellent 2010 album High Violet. Vernon also sat down for an interview with Jian Ghomeshi, during which he discussed his “controversial” Grammy comments, his “controversial” Twitter-feud with ?uestlove and Rolling Stone, his “controversial” Bushmills Whiskey endorsement, his Canadian singer-songwriter girlfriend Kathleen Edwards, and Kanye West’s controversial Taylor Swift stage invasion. Both the performance and the interview are fantastic, not to mention the new songs from the National, and I’m starting to feel pretty envious of Canada’s awesome radio station.

The National also performed two new songs during the Q Live show in Toronto, ‘Rylan’ and ‘I Need My Girl’. Listen to both over at CBC’s site.
