Nicole Holofcener might not be a filmmaker with much name recognition, but she has been steadily delivering solid indie dramas with complex female characters over the past decade, including Lovely & Amazing, Friends With Money and the underrated Please Give — not to mention directing key episodes of Parks and Recreation and Enlightened. Her latest film, Enough Said, follows a divorced woman (Julia Louis-Dreyfus) who falls for a sweet guy (James Gandolfini) that happens to be the ex-husband of her gossipy new client (Catherine Keener). From what we see in this first trailer, the film looks funny without being too obvious and promises some nuanced insights on middle-aged love, but the film will be most noteworthy for featuring one of the last performances by the late, great Gandolfini.
Enough Said opens in US theatres on September 20. Take a look at the first trailer and poster below.
