Following a pair of respectable and rather reserved samurai dramas — 2010’s 13 Assassins and 2011’s Hara-Kiri: Death of a Samurai — the latest film to hit our shores from prolific Japanese filmmaker Takashi Miike is the courtroom drama Ace Attorney (Gyakuten Saiban). Adapted from the Capcom video game Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney — which ought to be enough to tell you that this is a return to Miike’s gonzo side — and starring Hiroki Narimiya, this is a cartoonishly fun ride that should appeal to Miike fans and gamers alike. A Fistful of Culture has three copies on DVD to giveaway thanks to Madman, so try your luck below.
