[Watch] LE VOYAGE DANS LA LUNE clip featuring AIR’s ‘Sonic Armada’

Another clip has been released from the newly restored color edition of George Méliès’ 1902 film Le Voyage dans la Lune (A Trip to the Moon), scored by astral-electro French duo Air. Méliès’ iconic film has been famously referenced by Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris in their amazing video for Smashing Pumpkins’ ‘Tonight, Tonight’, and more recently in Martin Scorsese’s 3D family film Hugo. This new clip features the song ‘Sonic Armada’ from Air’s forthcoming score, which brings an appropriately surreal touch to the film. The duo, who previously soundtracked Sofia Coppola’s The Virgin Suicides, composed an entire album inspired by the film, featuring vocal contributions from Au Revoir Simone and Beach House’s Victoria Legrand. The album will be released with an accompanying DVD on February 7.

Watch an extract of Le Voyage dans la Lune below, featuring Air’s ‘Sonic Armada’ (via Nowness).
