A gorgeous and intriguing first trailer has finally surfaced for Spike Jonze’s long-awaited sci-fi-romance Her, suggesting that this is one of 2013’s most anticipated films that will likely live up to expectations. The film follows a lonely writer (Joaquin Phoenix) who develops an unlikely relationship with a newly-purchased operating system (voiced by Scarlett Johansson) that is designed to meet his every need. The supporting cast includes Chris Pratt, Amy Adams, Rooney Mara and Olivia Wilde, and the score will be provided by none other than Arcade Fire (this trailer, however, is backed by the Yeah Yeah Yeahs’ ‘Skeletons’ and Aphex Twin’s ‘Avril 14th’). Everything we see here looks remarkably promising, with Phoenix seemingly delivering another superb performance, and the ridiculously cool combination of filmmaker, cast and band collaborating on this project has me very excited indeed.
Her is set for a November 20 limited release in the US. Check out the first trailer and poster below.
