Quentin Tarantino’s highly anticipated Django Unchained is set to screen for critics for the first time this weekend before opening on Christmas Day in the US, and in anticipation a brand new trailer has been revealed. Jamie Foxx is once again front and centre here as the titular character, explaining in voiceover that “in my world, you gotta get dirty. So that’s what I’m doin’. I’m gettin’ dirty”, before dispatching a series of white folks with his pistol. The trailer mixes plenty of new footage — including some terrific new glimpses of Leonardo DiCaprio in wicked villain mode — with some we’ve seen before, and features a badass-sounding new song from Rick Ross as the blood sprays relentlessly. Whether or not this film could actually be the Oscar contender The Weinstein Company are obviously hoping for is questionable, but regardless of awards talk I’m loving everything I’ve seen so far and remain terrifically excited about this one.
As a bonus for gamers out there, you can check out a silly but fun Django Unchained game here.
