Disney have released a second trailer for their great blockbuster hope of 2013, Oz: The Great and Powerful. As with the first trailer the footage continues to look colourful and spectacular, and while I’m still not entirely convinced that the story will work I remain cautiously optimistic. It’s certainly a departure for The Evil Dead and Spider-Man director Sam Raimi, but the 3D-shot world he has created here looks like a remarkable achievement, and with a great cast on board — including James Franco, Mila Kunis, Rachel Weisz and Michelle Williams — there’s plenty of potential. Disney also released two posters this month — the first of which effectively teases the Wicked Witch amongst a visually sumptuous setting, while the most recent is a somewhat embarrassing mess which throws a whole bunch of creatures and plot points in your face — both of which can be found below.
Oz: The Great and Powerful opens in New Zealand on March 7, 2013. Check out the new trailer and two recent posters below (via The Playlist).
