[LISTEN] THE MARS VOLTA: ‘Zed And Two Naughts’

The Mars Volta leaked a second Noctourniquet track today, following last month’s lurching psych-jam ‘The Malkin Jewel’. ‘Zed and Two Naughts’ has shadings of their thrilling debut LP De-Loused in the Comatorium, not to mention some monstrous drumming from Deantoni Parks who joined the revolving line-up in late 2010. Omar Rodríguez-López and Cedric Bixler-Zavala recently answered some fan-submitted questions, discussing some pretty weird influences (Javier Bardem, the Constitution and the Bible for Omar; Summer Heights High for Cedric), Noctourniquet‘s different artwork, and describing the album as “our Krautrock record… only in spirit”.

Noctourniquet is due March 27. Listen to ‘Zed and Two Naughts’ below (via Stereogum).
