Quentin Tarantino’s slavery-western Django Unchained is one of the most anticipated films of the past year — not to mention one of the very best — and it hits New Zealand cinemas at long last today. Set in the antebellum south, the film stars Jamie Foxx as the titular freed slave who, with the aid of a German-born bounty hunter (Christoph Waltz), sets out to rescue his wife (Kerry Washington) from a sadistic Mississippi plantation owner (Leonardo DiCaprio). The release of a new Tarantino film is always an event, but with its contentious subject matter and growing accolades, the incendiary and wildly entertaining Django Unchained is fast becoming the must-see film of this crowded awards season. A Fistful of Culture is giving you the chance to catch it with five double passes up for grabs.
Django Unchained is in New Zealand cinemas from January 24. For more details see the trailer below or visit the website: WWW.UNCHAINEDMOVIE.COM
