Ascendent R&B artist Miguel released his sophomore LP Kaleidoscope Dream to universal acclaim this week, immediately placing him on the rarefied level of such contemporary favourites as Frank Ocean, Drake, The Weeknd and How to Dress Well. This hazy, soulful and stately album is sublime and wholeheartedly recommended, and to promote it Miguel has dropped two videos in quick succession this week. The bluesy, drug-fueled ballad ‘Do You’ is given a racy treatment by director Constellation Jones, which follows Miguel and a ladyfriend as they leave Las Vegas and head to the Nevada desert in a muscle car. ‘The Thrill’ is a jittery black-and-white affair which was shot at the birthday party of Miguel’s girlfriend Naz, and once again his life looks pretty fun here.
Kaleidoscope Dream is out now. Watch the videos for ‘The Thrill’, ‘Do You’ and ‘Adorn’ below.
