[LISTEN] BOB DYLAN: ‘Duquesne Whistle’

Bob Dylan has released the first taste of his forthcoming LP Tempest, which is due next month. ‘Duquesne Whistle’ is a lively, shuffling saloon stomp with typically playful and mysterious lyrics, co-written by his old friend Robert Hunter. The promising track very much announces that the greatest singer-songwriter of the 20th century is back, following his middling 2009 efforts Together Through Life and Christmas in the Heart, and I’m hoping Tempest returns Dylan to the winning streak he was previously on with Time Out of MindLove and Theft and Modern Times.

Tempest is due September 11. Listen to ‘Duquesne Whistle’ below (via NPR).
