There is certainly no shortage of ambitious literary adaptations heading our way in the final third of 2012, with Ang Lee’s Life of Pi, Baz Luhrmann’s The Great Gatsby (both in 3D) and Joe Wright’s Anna Karenina all set for awards season releases. Last month’s first trailer gave us an intriguing look into Wright’s visually sumptuous adaptation of Tolstoy’s celebrated novel, and today he has released an impressive six-minute clip from the film which features Keira Knightley, Jude Law and Aaron Johnson. The clip is preceded by a voice-over introduction from Wright who explains that the production utilised a rundown theatre for the entirety of the shoot, with over 100 interconnected sets built for the film, and he sure makes use of those in this remarkably fluid sequence.
Anna Karenina opens in the UK on September 7 and in the US on November 9. New Zealand audiences will have to wait patiently until January 31. Watch a six-minute clip from the film below (via Slashfilm).
