[WATCH] Amazing first trailer for Martin Scorsese’s THE WOLF OF WALL STREET starring Leonardo DiCaprio

The Wolf of Wall Street

If awards were given for trailers, this would surely be a top contender. Our first look at Martin Scorsese’s The Wolf of Wall Street has arrived — his fifth collaboration with Leonardo DiCaprio, based on the memoir of the same name by Jordan Belfort and written by Terence Winter (Boardwalk Empire) — and boy is it a doozy. Set to Kanye West’s bracing new track ‘Black Skinhead‘, the trailer plays like a stylistic descendant of Goodfellas with a ’90s white collar crime storyline. The comedic vibe looks to be working brilliantly, wisely playing up the absurdity of Belfort’s story (Lobster chucking! Dwarf tossing!) with DiCaprio and a scene-stealing Matthew McConaughey in particular seemingly having a blast. Jonah Hill, Kyle ChanlderJon Benrthal, Margot Robbie and Cristin Milioti also feature here, and we’re still yet to see a good portion of the excellent supporting cast, which also includes Jean Dujardin, Jon Favreau, Rob Reiner, Spike Jonze, Jake Hoffman, Shea Whigham and Joanna Lumley. I regard Scorsese as the greatest living American director and eagerly anticipate each and every one of his films, but The Wolf of Wall Street has suddenly shot right towards the top of this year’s heap following this unexpectedly fun and undeniably exciting trailer.

The Wolf of Wall Street is due November 15 in the US. Watch the first trailer below.
