One of the highlights of last year’s New Zealand International Film Festival is making its way back to cinemas this month: Thomas Vinterberg’s unsettling drama The Hunt. The film stars Mads Mikkelsen as a school teacher in a small Danish village who becomes the target of mass hysteria after being wrongfully accused of sexually assaulting a child. Mikkelsen — who has impressed in a broad range of both Danish and English-speaking roles, from After the Wedding and A Royal Affair to Casino Royale and NBC’s Hannibal — gives what might be his best performance to date here, and he was deservedly honoured with the Best Actor Award at the 2012 Cannes Film Festival. If you missed this must-see film at the festival last year, A Fistful of Culture is here to help with five double passes up for grabs thanks to Trigger Marketing.
The Hunt is in cinemas from June 13. Watch the trailer below.
