In celebration of Bond Day — aka the 50th anniversary of the release of Dr. No — fans have been treated to the full version of Adele’s much anticipated theme song for Skyfall, plus a brand new trailer which is soundtracked by said song. The ‘Someone Like You’ singer’s style and huge voice — backed by a 77-piece orchestra — is well suited to the Bond tradition and ‘Skyfall’ is the best theme tune in years, easily besting Jack White and Alicia Keys’ passable ‘Another Way to Die‘ and Chris Cornell’s cringeworthy ‘You Know My Name‘. The new trailer appears to be a brisker version of the recent international trailer, only with the audio replaced by Adele’s all-encompassing voice which lends a certain dramatic gravitas to the proceedings. The Skyfall marketing campaign continues to amp up for the film’s imminent release, and below you can also find recent posters and the controversial Heineken commercial.
Skyfall hits UK screens on October 26, US on November 9, and New Zealand on November 22. The film stars Daniel Craig, Javier Bardem, Judi Dench, Ralph Fiennes, Albert Finney, Ben Whishaw, Helen McCrory, Naomie Harris, Ola Rapace, Berenice Marlohe and Rory Kinnear.
