Ahead of its Chicago screening today — in 70mm at the Music Box Theater (ENVY!) — a new clip has been released from Paul Thomas Anderson’s not-about-scientology film The Master. We’ve previously seen two fascinating teaser clips and a brilliant trailer, and this latest tantalising clip has Joaquin Phoenix’s character seemingly being audited by Philip Seymour Hoffman, as he emotionally recalls a love letter from a former girlfriend. Once again, Phoenix looks incredible, Jonny Greenwood’s score sounds fantastic, and everything about this film just screams “masterpiece!”.
The Master opens October 12 in the US, and also stars Amy Adams, Laura Dern, Jesse Plemons, and David Warshovsky. Watch a new teaser clip and check out two great posters for the film below (via The Playlist).
