[WATCH] BLOC PARTY: ‘Octopus’

Following a three-year hiatus, British indie rockers Bloc Party are back in August with a new LP titled Four. The group released the album’s lead single ‘Octopus’ today, along with a new Nova Dando-directed video for it, which features the guys in a practice space as rapid-frame faces, ribbon dancers and static flash at an epilepsy-inducing rate. The song finds Bloc Party still embracing dance music, which I didn’t enjoy much on Kele Okereke’s solo LP The Boxer, but if the album’s teaser trailer is any indication, Four should also include their signature mix of post-punk indie rock and heartfelt ballads. ‘Octopus’ is available digitally tomorrow, and on 7″ August 13 backed by the B-side ‘Straight Thru Cru’.
