UK dance-pop pioneers Hot Chip return next week with In Our Heads, their fifth studio LP. We’ve already heard the instant-classic lead single ‘Night and Day’, as well as seen a video for ‘Flutes‘ and late-night performances of ‘Don’t Deny Your Heart‘ and ‘How Do You Do‘, but now thanks to NPR you can stream the entire album. Hot Chip’s 2010 LP One Life Stand was the highpoint of their career in my opinion, and expectations are now pretty high following the widespread acclaim that album received. On first listen, In Our Heads definitely does not disappoint, and it’s perhaps the most sonically expansive and lyrically universal album the awesomely-wistful band has made. I’m definitely going to need a few more spins before considering how it compares to One Life Stand, but suffice it to say that Hot Chip have released another great album which will likely feature on many “Best of 2012” lists in 6-7 months time. The group also recently released an amazingly batshit video for ‘Night and Day’, directed by comedy hero Peter Serafinowicz and starring legendary actor Terrence Stamp plus supermodel Lara Stone, which you can also find below.
In Our Heads is out June 12. Stream it below (via NPR).

Super fans may also want to head over to the BBC Radio 1 website to stream Hot Chip’s two-hour BBC Essential Mix, which includes selections of their own music, as well as the likes of Marvin Gaye, Prince, Wiley, Todd Terje and more.
