ST. VINCENT announces New Zealand tour!

Here’s news that I’ve been waiting to hear for many months: St. Vincent is bringing her Strange Mercy tour to New Zealand! Annie Clark, along with her three-piece backing band, will perform two shows in Auckland and Wellington in March. Strange Mercy is the best St. Vincent album to date, and one of my top 5 albums of 2011, which makes this announcement easily the most exciting of 2012 so far. St. Vincent previously performed at the 2010 New Zealand International Arts Festival in Wellington, and as part of The Polyphonic Spree at the 2005 Big Day Out, but this marks her first headline tour of the country and I for one cannot wait.

Read details on the St. Vincent shows below (via UTR).

Sunday 18th March, Kings Arms Tavern, Auckland
Monday 19th March, SFBH, Wellington

Tickets on sale Monday 23rd January from Undertheradar, Real Groovy in Auckland and Slow Boat in Wellington.
